First snowmobile fatality of the season

SIREN—A 41 year-old Minnesota man died in the early morning hours of Feb. 4 after the snowmobile he was operating north of Highway 70 on Krueger Road crashed.

The victim, who's identity has yet to be released, was pronounced dead at the scene by deputy medical examiner Angie Christner. The man was from Owatonna.

After following up on the incident, the Burnett County Sheriff's Department arrested Tami Boese, 37, Owatonna, Travis L. DeMarre, 24, Webster and Jason L. Pierce, 27, Siren for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
